TIM & TERYL JOHNSON

One of many neat couples in the club, Tim and Teryl Johnson from Duluth, show the 28th Cadillac they've owned in just 15 years, a '93 NorthStar powered, red Allante. Other Cads owned include: a '52 Coupe Deville, three '57 Sedan DeVille's, one '58 Sedan Deville, Seven 59's (3 Cpe DeVille's, 2 Sed DeVille's, 1 Convert & 1 Hearse), a '60 Limo, a '60 4-window Sed Deville, two '61 Cpe DeVille's, a '61 Sed Deville, a '63 Limo, a '72 Sed Deville, a '78 Eldorado Biarritz, two '79 Cpe DeVille's, an '85 Sed Deville, '86 Cpe Deville, '94 Seville STS, '98 Seville STS plus the '93 Allante.

Believe it or not, they also have interest in Chev/GMC trucks.

In fact they sold a '68 Suburban and a '57 Cadillac to 20th Century Fox for use in the Movie "Hoffa." They paid $100 for their 1st Cad, a '52 Cpe Deville that didn't run. They fixed it up and sold it and "the rest is history" as they say. In the story is a '58 sold and shipped to England, a '59 to France, and a 1960 Limo said to have been owned by Elizabeth Condon and kept at the Glensheen Mansion.

Members of the NorthStar Region of CLS since 1990 they "Love Cadillacs and wouldn't drive any other type of car." Tim and Teryl Johnson are always looking for Cads (as time and funds allow). I have a feeling they'd love to hear from you at 218-728-6294 or timtj@charter.net or 2013 E 3rd St, Duluth, MN 55812..

Hi all club members,

Here are a few photos from this past summer with our '93 Allante.  In July Teryl and I set out on our vacation to Tennessee in our  Allante.  We left Duluth and about 30 miles this side of Madison, we made a pit stop.  I noticed some smoke coming from under the hood.  It was dark, but everything looked fine so we went on to Madison.  The next morning I went out to the car and could immediately see that there were puddles of oil all around the front of the car!  There was oil everywhere, underneath the car too.  I checked the dipstick.... Nothing!  I searched everywhere for the problem and could not visually find anything loose, broken or missing.  We started the car and the oil light stayed on.  Fortunately Midas was open on Saturday at 7:30am on the 4th of July weekend and they were close by.  It took them about 45 minutes for them to determine that is was the engine oil cooler line that goes to the radiator.  It broke right where it curves and goes into the radiator.  Apparently a common problem on all later model GM cars!

Anyway, the part would not be available until after the July 4th holiday.  Needless to say, we ended up renting a red Pontiac GrandAm (It ain't no Cadillac-but it was a nice new car. Avis was out of Cadillacs) and went on our way.  We  had a great vacation despite missing our Cadillac.  Midas was kind enough to pull the car in their garage every night after their work day.  Since that time we have put on an additional 5,000 trouble free enjoyable miles on the car.

The photos are from a trip Teryl and I took in September to Madeline Island just off the shores of Bayfield, WI.  As you can see from the photo when we were on the ferry over to the island it was a bit windy on Lake Superior.  Teryl is wrapped up in her coat behind the drivers seat.  Despite the wind on the ferry it was a beautiful day.  Actually, our fall was nicer than our summer in Duluth this year.

Perhaps some of the club members would like to consider a driving tour to Bayfield, WI  The Ritten House in Bayfield is a fantastic restored historic old mansion with overnight accommodations and word class food and Madeline Island is just a short ferry ride.   We would be happy to join in and lead the way!  Its only about 85 miles from Duluth on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior.

Hope to see you next year at the all GM show again and at the Grand Nationals in Des Moines, IA.
